Orbitage have been providing training for the telecommunications industry around the Asia-Pacific region for a number of years. The technology fields of particular focus are IP, ATM, GPRS and UMTS, providing both theory and hands-on course instruction. Many telecom engineers have a clear understanding of GSM and SS7 technologies, and this is highly desirable for the evolution to 3G. However with the particular idiosyncrasies of the wireless world, off the shelf courses on IP, ATM, SCTP, etc. will have little benefit and may not be cost effective. With our focus on this convergence we are ideally situated to train your engineers, managers and marketing people. Courses range from highly detailed instructor-led technical courses to those addressing business aspects and opportunities of new technologies. Our business courses are designed specifically for management personnel who are or will be involved in developing, deploying and managing the new revenue streams. Orbitage can also provide training needs analysis, competence assessment and program certification. Our focus so far has been on cellular vendors and operators in the Asia-Pacific region, with frequent visits to Japan and Korea.
Orbitage is the lead training provider for Nokia Asia Pacific and has developed programs for GSM, GPRS, UMTS, IP, Network Security and ATM. The service has included training-needs analysis, development of Instructor-led theory and practical programs, distance learning and eLearning solutions, and participant assessment and evaluation. These have been delivered with great success across the region from India to Korea and New Zealand. Programs range from business planning and overview courses, to highly technical coverage.
Orbitage has run a number of high-profile seminars in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand over the last year, targeting topical technical and business areas of telecommunications evolution. All training courses and seminars run in Malaysia so far have received funding from the HRDC.
